About Us

JRegistry is a completely free web-based service for Bar and Bat Mitzvah families. The easy-to-use calendar design allows visitors to avoid the many conflicts that arise during the planning stages of the event. The registration process is quick and simple, while the calendar is easy to navigate. The website also provides the user with a well-organized catalogue of Bar and Bat Mitzvah-related services, such as caterers, entertainers, and rentals.

JRegistry was founded in 2009 by Zach Justein and Mark Hochman, two students from the University of Western Ontario. We felt that a service for advanced planning was missing from the Bar and Bat Mitzvah community, which had been causing many conflicts for parents and children. On our Bar Mitzvah days, several of our friends were unable to attend the services or the parties because unbeknownst to us, other members in our social communities had booked the same date three years prior.

After so much work preparing the event and so much money invested, why not avoid the disappointment of friends being busy on your special day and night? With JRegistry, you can let your friends and your child’s friends know what date you have booked years before the date of your service or party.

We are also aware that children in this age group will be soon beginning high school, where they are required to complete 40 hours of community service. In order to strengthen the Jewish community, we have a link to several community service opportunities, which several synagogues have provided. At JRegistry, our goal is to bring together the many Jewish communities from Toronto, Thornhill, Richmond Hill, and more. This includes the many social groups that kids are a part of, such as overnight camps, sports leagues, and educational institutes.
